Our veterinary wellness services are a range of proactive and preventive care practices designed to keep animals healthy and address potential health issues before they become serious. These services focus on promoting overall well-being, longevity, and quality of life for the animal, rather than only treating illness or injury after it occurs.

Annual Exams

Just like humans, an annual wellness exam is essential to monitor the animal’s health so that we can all be proactive and not just reactive to their health. This exam includes:

  • Checking vital signs (heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate).
  • Perform physical exam to look for abnormalities (lumps, bumps, dental health, skin issues) spine and joints.
  • Measure weight and assess body condition.

Vaccinations

Vaccines help protect the animal and event their humans from serious, contagious diseases. Based on the health of the animal during their exam and their vaccine history, we administer the following:

  • Rabies – required by Tennessee Department of Health
  • Distemper-Parvovirus combo – required by Tennessee Department of Health
  • Bordetella – optional
  • Leptospirosis – optional

Parasite Treatment

Parasites such as fleas, ticks, and worms can cause significant health issues. Veterinary wellness services often include:

  • Flea, tick, and mite treatments to prevent infestations.
  • Deworming treatments and fecal checks to identify and treat intestinal parasites.
  • Heartworm prevention to safeguard against heartworm disease.

Dental Care

Oral health is a crucial part of overall wellness for the animal. We offer the following:

  • Professional dental cleanings to remove plaque and tartar.
  • Instruction on at-home dental care (tooth brushing, dental chews, etc.).
  • Early detection of dental disease, which can lead to more serious health problems if left untreated.

Nutrition and Weight Management

A balanced diet is key to an animal’s long-term health.

  • Nutritional counseling to ensure animals are eating the right type and amount of food for their age, breed, and health status.
  • Weight management plans to address obesity or underweight concerns.
  • Monitoring metabolic health and conditions like diabetes.

Laboratory Tests and Diagnostics

Routine screenings help detect underlying issues before symptoms appear.

  • Blood tests to evaluate organ function and detect diseases.
  • Urinalysis to assess kidney and urinary health.
  • Diagnostic imaging like X-rays or ultrasounds to detect abnormalities in bones, organs, or tissues.
